OK Like it was 2006
In January, I was a researcher. Nose to the book, back breaking over the xerox, My subject the painter Gainsborough-
the reason why cash of course. Truly I unleashed my librarian side... I sifted, I microfiched and went on a wonderful trip
through the 18th century through my 21st century tour eyes..All of sudden one might see how the dutch influence
pervaded Britian-yeah the time to dash across the channel really hasn't changed much .. It was fun to use my tour
schedule of small British pubs to my advantage. I stunned others with my far reaching connections...
In February, I became a edit aholic... I made one little 4 minute short after another . I was the queen of Movie Maker,
but I was lulled by a sense of impending drama. The days were short but life is good when you live in Los Angeles.
March took me back for Chicago it was warm when we got there and then it became the nasty frigid place that always
makes me cringe and pull my shoulders into my collarbone. Betsy Brown might have taken my money and made sure
nobody heard my little SOUL FUNKY -and I could not get my cash back in a court of law but wrote and recorded a
brilliant song for Josh's new record - the tune Chicken Wing let me be a producer and man I dug rockin the chair.
April I became a video producer for the Getty Museum's archival department and got to read all the secret J.P. Getty
correspondence. No kissing nor telling after all I am a married woman. Although I was given a film crew I was still
quite taken with the pocket JVC for everyday footage. Josh pulled me back into the ever so elusive LA Blues Scene. It
was fun to hang with Mickey but the verdict might still be out on Liemert Park. OH yeah I got my scooter license!
May I spent time at J. Paul Getty's grave directing and producing video Narratives for the Getty and tooling around LA
on my new scooter. I got my first article published on ACcontent.com
June got us getting our acts together to return to Chicago and film our first short using a crew from the ages of 5-14
July we sweltered in the hot Midwestern sun getting at-risk kids to make a movie. I tried to do a Bollywood scene but it
ended up more like a disasterwood scene-- who thought kids could not walk in a circle?
August One of the remaining Sharons burned the bridge by coming to our house and loafing on the couch while I
struggled with learning Final Cut Pro. It was a drag to lose what I thought was such a great friend, but I realized nobody
can stand me for all those years.
September I edited at night and plotted to go back to school. Bored with playing just the blues, I want to work on
creating new mediums of work.
WEll check back for more!
